the Irving Penn Influence

Irving Penn's photography has an amazing, bewitching effect on my mind. I guess is all about his very tight framing which gets you so dangerously close to his subjects, and then there is the elegance, the soft side lighting coming probably from a nearby window. It is the way Penn gets you personally involved in his portraits, the eyes of his subjects will haunt you forever. I also refer to his amazing portrait of the great Picasso, the photo that led me to do this project. You will have to search the mentioned portrait yourself as I believe my portrait is more fashion related, or I wish to think so, and I also feel that my portrait is not worth to be put next to Penn's fabulous Picasso. My portrait does not do much justice in its resemblance to Penn's photo. I will tell this much about Penn's Picasso, besides being amazing, IS VERY PICASSO; a nose, a big staring eye, an ear .... well, I guess you know what I mean, and if not, no problem, look at the framing and the lines and you will get a cubist photo. Enjoy ....
